With the diversification in development of our business, besides FCL export business, LCL export business becomes more and more increasingly. Especially in PVA business. Due to some of PVA clients’s consumption monthly in 1-2mt, we will choose LCL shipment.
LCL operation is basically similar to FCL. Below we will talk about some tips when shipping chemical materials in LCL.
1.What’s the required package?
To prevent loss and damage cargo, shipping company will require all bulk cargo, such as bags and drums on pallet.
2.When’s the cut-off time?
Cut-off time and SI cut-off time of LCL is early than FCL, usually these 2 dates are 7days earlier than ship on board date. LCL’s custom process is a little bit complex.

3.How to calculate the price?
LCL is always charged according to volumn and weight of the larger one. For chemical materials, usually in volumn. For example, volumn of 1 ton melamine/PVA in 1.5-1.8CMB with pallet.
4.Where’s the loading port?
For non-DG cargo, like melamine&PVA, it ships from Tianjin/Qingdao port. But for DG cargo, it can only ship from Shanghai port.

5.Expenses different between LCL&FCL?
Usually, LCL cost is higher than FCL. The difference in cost lies in THC and CFS charge in POL and POD.
